Microsoft 365 was down throughout much of the U.S. on Tuesday morning, affecting Outlook email delivery.
Service apparently was being restored around 3 p.m. ET.
The problems hit a peak around 9:20 a.m. ET, affecting the New York City area in particular, according to Downdetector.
The outage also apparently affected the Washington, DC; Chicago; Minneapolis; Los Angeles, and Seattle areas, although to a lesser extent than New York.
But Microsoft reports: “We’re continuing to investigate the issue causing impact to Outlook for the web. After further investigation, the issue is more widespread than North America.”
Of the comments received by Downdetector, while 65% cited issues with Outlook, 23% with websites and 12% with logins.
One user wrote: “I can’t get into my outlook email…it’s a couple of hours now!
“Lots of bugs lately,” wrote another. “time to change email.”
One more user suggested, “I re attached licenses on the admin side for Premium and standard it email and teams is working again. If you haven’t tried that then I suggest that.”
