First cab off the rank is Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
DDLS, a corporate IT training provider in Australia, has officially launched in the Philippines with a series of dedicated Microsoft enablement courses.
The first cab off the rank is Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, which will be followed by the Microsoft Azure Administrator training from 6-9 August at the Microsoft Philippines office in Makati City.
According to Jon Lang – CEO of DDLS Australia – the provider selected such courses due to its “strong partnership” with Microsoft, in addition to “high demand” within the Philippines.
“Today marks an important step towards our expansion plans to bring first-class IT training to the wider Asia Pacific market,” Lang said. “Philippine clients can expect a wide range of public courses to be available in the next few weeks, with a focus on cloud, workplace, networking, cyber security, as well as process courses such as ITIL [Information Technology Infrastructure Library], project management, DevOps and agile.”
Lang said construction of the first DDLS Philippines campus has also commenced in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City, Metro Manila.
The new facility will be equipped with seven “state-of-the-art” training rooms, fitted out with the latest computer hardware and telepresence technology, under the banner of DDLS Anywhere.
“The Philippines campus facilities are being set up to meet the same high standards that DDLS’s Australian clients have come to expect,” Lang added.
DDLS – a wholly-owned subsidiary of EdventureCo – joined forces with Aboitiz Equity Ventures in March 2019 to expand into the local market, with plans in place to roll out additional campuses in the near future.
In Australia, DDLS became the first Microsoft Gold Certified Partner for Learning Solutions through the provision of end-to-end training solutions across the vendor’s suite of technologies.
The business was formerly owned by Dimension Data – now NTT – and was acquired for $4.7 million by asset management company, Arowana International in December 2017.
The expansion comes with more than 5800 digital and cloud-related jobs currently on offer in the Philippines, signalling an opportunity for channel partners to fill a widening gap in the market.
Local figures from Indeed – a worldwide employment-related search engine – highlight a country in the midst of a transformation recruitment drive, heightening demand for external expertise through specialists, consultants, integrators, service providers and resellers.
Specific to digital, 3890 roles currently exist, with most demand linked to positions across the technology portfolios of Google (443) and Microsoft (412). The chasing pack covers Salesforce (92), SAP (75) and Oracle (60), alongside AWS (54), Cisco (30) and IBM (16).
Demand for digital roles is most prominent across the locations of Makati (733), Manila (660), Pasig (334), Quezon City (333) and Taguig (290).
Meanwhile, 1926 cloud-related positions are also available, with searches related to Microsoft (360) and AWS (324) coming out on top. This was followed by cloud-related roles at Oracle (239), SAP (161) and Google (160), in addition to Salesforce (130), Cisco (95) and IBM (70).
Within the context of cloud, key areas of expertise span engineers (621), developers (598) and integration (426), followed by consultants (189) and architects (184).
