E-News | Collaborate easily on documents with integrated SharePoint feature of Microsoft Teams – WVU ENews

To keep important documents, presentations and other files secure and organized but also easily accessible for collaboration, Information Technology Services suggests using Microsoft Teams. You can also seamlessly share files from either the built-in SharePoint or from your Microsoft OneDrive for Business account.
If you’re not yet using OneDrive, review this FAQ.
Microsoft Teams is a free, flexible and intuitive Office 365 application available to all WVU employees. Teams provides a chat-centered workspace where people can quickly communicate, meet with videoconferencing and work on documents in real time. The Health Sciences Center has its own version of Teams, but people can be added as Guests to either Teams environment. Learn more in this article.
Here are some benefits of using Teams for file storage and collaboration:
Document management. Use the Files section of each Team to house important documents, files, images and other resources critical to your daily work in a single location and platform. Optimize your storage by putting files into named Folders.
Streamline feedback. The SharePoint feature improves collaboration by allowing users to access, edit and share documents that are automatically synced. This simplifies the feedback process, eliminates the need for multiple copies, and reduces the risk of input being lost.
Enhanced security. Teams requires WVU Login credentials and two-factor authentication, so only employees and the Guests you grant access can see University data.
Researchers should be mindful to use only approved technologies for research data storage.
