Microsoft today announced that they are making Power BI custom visuals available on Office Store. Along with Word, Excel and others, Power BI is now listed as a product in the Office store, listing all Power BI custom visuals. Users can use it for searching and filtering by categories. Microsoft is also moving the existing custom visuals gallery to the Office store. As Office store is already popular among millions of users, it is better for developers to have their custom visuals listed on it. Not only for the end users, developers can submit and manage their custom visuals in the Office store.
Until Microsoft completely moves all the custom visuals to Office Store, the existing visuals gallery will be available. Microsoft also mentioned that all custom visuals that were ever downloaded from the gallery will continue to work as usual even after the gallery will be deprecated.
