Microsoft has announced a new Yammer-Outlook integration for Microsoft 365 users. This way, updates from Yammer communities will be delivered straight to your Outlook inbox. As part of this integration, Microsoft 365 users can engage with Yammer conversations in Outlook and respond to Yammer posts from the reading pane of new messages, credit goes to interactive Yammer emails coming straight to Outlook app for Mac, Windows, and mobile apps.
Interact with Yammer notifications in Outlooks
Earlier this month, Microsoft released interactive Yammer emails feature for Outlook for Web. The same capability is now rolling out to Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS. In its recent blog post, Microsoft wrote:
“You’ll be able to engage with Yammer conversations in Outlook where you can like and respond to the posts from the reading pane of your new message. This way you can stay on task while keeping up with important conversations and announcements from Yammer.”

Interactive Yammer emails deliver adaptive cards and actionable messages in Outlook inbox. These emails allow users to see the details of conversations users are following in Yammer. Plus users can also like and reply directly from the email notification without manually switching applications on mobile or open a web browser on PC.
Once this feature is enabled for you, you will start receiving interactive Yammer notifications in your Outlook inbox. You can customize which Yammer notifications you wish to keep receiving in Yammer Settings.
Recently, Yammer announced the public preview of its new, redesigned web interface alongside new capabilities and integrations throughout Microsoft 365. Yammer happens to be Microsoft’s first application to leverage the Fluent Design system to its full potential.
Yammer comprises features such as a variety of community announcement options and changes to the live events and publisher experiences to boost user engagement and deliver new notifications in Outlook.
Meanwhile, actions such as voting on Yammer polls, attaching recent files, and replies including rich text in replies are already interactive on Outlook on the web. Microsoft says it is working to build a similar experience in Outlook for Windows, Mac, and mobile in the coming months.
